Questions About Billing

     

Question: When should I expect my first bill?
Answer: We will bill you any balance due after your insurance company has paid your claim. There may be a delay if your insurance company has paid us incorrectly and we have re-submitted your claim for a corrected payment and allowance determination.

Question: What is included in my bill?
Answer: As an Ambulatory Surgery Center, we are dedicated to reducing the cost of your medical care. In fact, we do not itemize invoices since most procedures have established charges. Your bill from our facility reflects operating room/recovery room, supplies used, and services rendered by LSC staff. Some specialty items may require additional charges. There are a number of separate charges with your surgical procedure. You MAY receive charges from several companies, including:

  1. Lexington Anesthesia for services of an MD Anesthesiologist or certified registered nurse anesthetist. Their number is 859-268-1030 info@anesthesaiassociatesoflexington.com.
  2. Your surgeon’s office – his/her fee for performing your surgery.
  3. Your pathologist – services for tissue specimens removed during surgery requiring further examination.

Question: What is your credit and payment policy?
Answer: Credit and Payment Policy
Full payment is due within 90 days of your first statement after the date of surgery. All Cosmetic or Self pay procedures must be paid in full on the day of your surgery.

We strongly encourage you to personally contact your insurance company about your upcoming surgery. It is mandatory that YOU, as the insured, confirm all prior authorization information necessary to your specific policy is completed before your surgery date. You may be penalized by your insurance company if you don’t follow your policy guidelines. You must understand what your benefits cover and how this may affect you financially.

We will submit insurance claims for you. We may request that your deductible and co-pay amounts are paid on or before your date of surgery. You will receive a letter or phone call from us regarding the amount due.

If you anticipate difficulty in paying your bill within the 90 period please let us know immediately.

Question: What type of credit cards are accepted?
Answer: We accept all major credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and CareCredit. You are welcome to visit the CareCredit website at: http://www.carecredit.com/ to pre-apply for their service before your date of surgery.

*Cosmetic patients: We do not accept personal checks. We will accept a certified check or money order. As a courtesy to Lexington Anesthesia, we sometimes collect payments for them for their services rendered when you check in at our facility. Please note: they do not accept American Express nor personal checks. If you have concerns with payment arrangements,  please contact Lexington Anesthesia at 859-260-1030.*

Question: Am I able to set up a payment plan?
Answer: We do ask that all balances are paid in full within 90 days after receiving your first bill. If you encounter problems paying within the 90 days of the receipt of your first bill, please contact our office immediately at 859-276-2525 or 1-800-900-2529 and ask for our Billing Department.
